My story at Secrays began in January 2017 when I started to write my Master’s Thesis. On my Thesis, I examined how General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) would affect organizations once enacted. In addition, I analyzed what type of benefits cloud services could provide in order to be compliant with GDPR. I was thrilled about this opportunity since I have a keen interest for business development. My previous experience on how to improve business operations with cloud solutions was put to the test.
In July 2017 I started to work with real privacy problems as a full time Privacy Consultant. Daily, I help clients to understand how GDPR affects on them and what needs to be done to be fully GDPR compliant. In practice this usually means the making of privacy assessments or Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) where I assess whether the processing of personal data complies with the obligations of the GDPR. I’m also familiar with updating and creating privacy notices as well as defining privacy processes. However, the most meaningful thing for me is to act as a Data Protection Officer (DPO) for some of our clients.
It has been pleasant to notice that our clients have taken the privacy issues so seriously without losing the positive attitude for making necessary changes. With my own positive attitude, I strive to create unique solutions to our clients in order to serve their business purposes.
